Special Purpose Design Engineer

Our Yorkshire-based client is a global Tier 2 designer and manufacturer of advanced electronic and electromechanical (mechatronic) products for the automotive industry including control units, sensors, monitors and motors.
Job description
-Provide drawings and parts list for new jigs, fixtures and automated equipment generated along with diagrams for Hydraulics and Pneumatic controls when required
- To ensure all 8D and problem reports activities are completed
-Provide technological support on cost saving and continuous improvement programmes
- Design jigs, fixtures and automated equipment within agreed time scales and budgets, according to UK health and safety legislation
-Updating drawings followed by external and internal modifications and repairs.
-Will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all TS 16949 and ISO 14001 requirements
-Ensure product design is thoroughly reviewed with regard to manufacturing feasibility, cost efficiency and quality
Key skills and experience
-Candidates should be educated to Higher National Diploma level or equivalent industry experience
-Experience of 3D Design software, ideally Solid Works or Catia
-Previous experience of design engineering experience in high volume, highly technical manufacturing environment.
-Automotive experience preferred but not essential
