Buyer required by major automotive manufacturer. As Site Buyer you will be responsible for the commercial elements of the selection, monitoring and development of suppliers in support of Engineering, Prototype and NPI. You must be focused on eliminating waste and reducing the total acquisition cost wherever cost lies. You will manage the BU`s Direct and Indirect spend and be responsible for supplier selection, negotiation of cost, TandCs, order placement, expediting delivery and achievement of cost down objectives.
You will ensure current company purchase processes are adhered to, in particular the supplier selection, sourcing, purchase requisition, approvals and order placement procedure. You will optimise current and future commercial advantages with all suppliers, negotiate and process requisitions/orders and expedite delivery, ensuring VFM. In addition, you will be responsible for quotation analysis including contract terms and conditions and Total Acquisition Cost analysis.
Our client is looking for a professional Buyer with a strong Engineering bias, commercial and business financial acumen, a good technical familiarity within the full range of manufacturing techniques and services, the ability to interpret and challenge suppliers costs (QAF`s) and strong commercial negotiation skills with excellent written and verbal communications. You must have good PC skills, be able to provide robust analysis and statistical data and have a mathematical aptitude. Experience of using an ERP system, MFG Pro is preferred. You must also have either attained a CIPS Graduate Diploma or be working towards this.
