Mechanical Design Engineer

My client a market leading manufacturing company, require an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer with a Solidworks / CATIA background.

Main Responsibilities

-Provide technological support on cost saving and continuous improvement programmes
- Design jigs, fixtures and automated equipment within agreed time scales and budgets, according to UK health and safety legislation
-Working within the Projects Team working on a number of bespoke mechanical  projects across a the cope of the business.
-Will be involved in projects from initial meetings with client through to delivery of finished products
-Candidates should be fully conversant with Solidworks  or Catia 3D design software.  
-Working closely with both the Engineering and Maintenance Teams
-Ensure all documentation and correspondence relevant to the project design is up to date and stored within company standards.
-Taking customer specifications through design process, and working with Production to develop manufacturing process

Skills and experience

-Should have experience of working in a hihg volume manufacturing environment ideally Automotive sector
-Candidates should ideally be educated to degree level or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or related subject
-Previous experience and strong working knowledge of Solid Works / Catia(preferably) or other 3D modelling software
-Candidates should have experience of putting together bills of materials and associated documentation
