Buyer required by largest producer of Nickel based alloys in the UK supplying Aerospace, Petrochem and Automotive markets with highly specialised product. Most product is smelted then forged or extruded on site with some wire and sheet product processed off site. Highly reliant on metalurgical technical expertise this stable company is seeing good growth in customer requirements.
As Buyer you will
Lead sourcing exercises to develop and maintain a competitive supply base
Issue, review and assess Requests for quotations to potential suppliers
Negotiate with suppliers to optimise cost, quality, and delivery and resolve issues where necessary.
Put in place proper commercial and/or contractual relationships with the major Engineering and MRO suppliers.
Ensure all engineering and MRO items and services are sourced and purchased in accordance with SMW s policies and procedures including SOX.
