A HMI Engineer is required to work on contract for our large automotive client based in Whitley, West Midlands.

Position Description:
Our client plan to dramatically accelerate the development of in-vehicle HMI in order to meet and exceed customer expectations within our future vehicle lines. To support this we are looking for an engineer with substantial experience in the design and development of leading edge HMI software. The successful candidate will develop the HMI for a variety of feature based on a set of high level standards and graphical themes. Through a rapid development framework the successful candidate will be required to realise there HMI design using the latest HMI modelling toolset before pushing forward evaluations in order to validate usability. Skills Required:
Ability to develop HMI flows and layouts for complex infotainment/Consumer Electronics systems. Knowledge of HMI software architectures and development tools. Excellent communication and requirements capturing/questioning skills (written & verbal). Very good logical and analytical thinking. Ability to work quickly, effectively to a high standards while coping with requirements change. Good team work but with ability to work independently and self-efficiently when required.
Skills Preferred:
Voice control technology and applications. Programming skills for HMI (e.g. C++/Java).
Details
Experience Required:
Extensive experience in development of complex HMIs. Experience with modelling/coding leading edge embedded HMI applications. Experience constructing and conducting HMI evaluations/user trails. Proven delivery performance - essential.
Experience Preferred:
Modelling tools (Statemachine/Stateflow) development of automotive HMI systems (touch screens, instrument clusters) 2D and 3D graphical tools such as Adobe Illustrator/Adobe Photoshop/3ds Max OpenGL/ES API concurrent programming (multi-threading/process) software version control applications (SVN/CVS) software testing.
Education Required:
While not essential a degree in software engineering or subject closely related to consumer electronics would be desirable.
