The company currently supplies electronic systems to the aerospace industry for both civil and defence applications. Their major area of business at Cheltenham is avionics systems. There is scope for working on a variety of projects and products and the constantly changing approach to systems and procedures in house means that engineers have a real opportunity to help shape the organisation.
Design and develop test equipment software to production standards, complying with all current regulatory and safety requirements.
Generate of documentation suites for software development from original requirements through to formal release procedures whilst adhering to company processes and procedures.
Design and prepare software to be integrated and commissioned with TE hardware and UUT s in collaboration with TE and Project Hardware Engineers.
Develop flexible design solutions which are appropriate and scalable to end user requirements.
Verification and subsequent pro-active modification, during test equipment and test item integration.
Re-use of tried and tested modules, coupled with innovative design solutions where re-use is not appropriate with a view to future code re-use.
Liaise with project, manufacturing, test equipment, in-service personnel and other stakeholders to capture original and changed requirements.
Ensure that all Design For Test (DFT) issues have been fed back to the Engineering Team and reviewed with other stakeholders.
Contribute to schedule and cost planning activities for the TE hardware / software solutions.
Experience C++ OOD Essential (preferably used in development test software for avionics products, preferably within Borland Developer Suite, within a configured industry environment.)
Application of design patterns.
Experience of translating complex avionics test requirements into application Software.
Working in a safe and compliant manner on high voltage systems.
Experience of fault tree analysis, automated test diagnostics and battery systems would be advantageous.
Knowledge of configuration management systems and life-cycle control.
