Description
Our client is a global sugar, cereal sweetener, starch and citric acid processing company and through their Technology Group they offer technical solutions, consultancy services and speciality sugar related products throughout the world.

Job Requirements
Purpose of Job:
To provide Instrument Project Engineering services for the design, development, production, manufacture, testing and commissioning of control systems for Projects.

Main Accountabilities:
•Engineer Instrumentation packages from P&I Ds and functional design specifications.
•To be conversant with applications of proprietary and industry standard instruments.
•Generate and maintain instrument lists from P&I Ds.
•Generate instrument data sheets for procurement.
•Design and construct flexible PLC based control systems.
•Support on-site commissioning of instrument systems at customer’s overseas locations.
•Define scope and cost of instrumentation packages.
•Assist the design office with detail designs, drawings and technical information.
•Support the Customer’s engineering facilities to clarify and answer technical queries related to instrument supply and installation.
•Liaise with other discipline engineers to ensure the design parameters, specifications and standards set, for instrument packages are maintained.

Details
Skills & Knowledge:
•Degree or equivalent in an appropriate electrical, controls and instrumentation related discipline.
•Knowledge of Intergraph SmartPlant Instrumentation
•Strong PLC/SCADA programming experience.
•Knowledge of digital bus systems such as Profibus PA and ASi bus together with a general understanding of control systems.
•Ability to interrogate AutoCad 2004.
•Use of MS Office Suite to an advanced level.
•Well developed inter personal, administration and communication skills.
•Experience at senior level on large multi discipline projects.
•Sugar Industry experience
•Highly developed planning and organisational skills
