Mechanical Design Engineer

My client a market leading mechanical handling company, require an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer with a Solidworks background.

Main Responsibilities
-Working within the Projects Team working on a number of bespoke mechanical handling projects across a variety of industry sectors, including Nuclear, Automotive, FMCG and Power Generation markets.
-Will be involved in projects from initial meetings with client through to delivery of finshed products
-Candidates should be fully conversant with Solidworks 3D software.
-Will be producing engineering calculations for project work.
-Working closely with both Sales and Projects team
-Ensure all documentation and correspondence relevant to the project design is up to date and stored within company standards.
-Taking customer specifications through design process, and working with Production to develop manufacturing process

Skills and experience

-Should have experience of large scales mechanical handling systems.
-Candidates should ideally be educated to degree level or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or related subject
-Previous experience and strong working knowledge of Solid Works (preferably) or other 3D modelling software
-Candidates should have experience of putting together bills of materials
