The company is one of the world s leading manufacturers and marketers of valves, actuators and controls, providing market-leading products, services and solutions, for the most challenging applications throughout oil and gas, power, mining, chemical, food and beverage and building and construction industries.
We are looking to recruit a PURCHASING MANAGER. Reporting to the General Manager you will be responsible for leading and developing sourcing activities for commodities across the Oil and Gas business sector and other business units to deliver savings on site, ensuring quality and delivery of purchased goods against planned deliveries. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years experience in Purchasing in an engineering environment that would include cost models, market analysis, savings calculations and project planning. You should have proven negotiation skills and understand how to manage supplier rating systems to the benefit of the business. A full UK driving licence and a commitment to travel abroad on a frequent basis is required to enable visits to Suppliers and Projects. It would be advantageous to be degree qualified in an engineering discipline, hold a Lean or Six Sigma qualification and be CIPS qualified. This role is commutable from Wakefield, Leeds, Bradford, York, Sheffield, Huddersfield and the surrounding areas.
