Driveline NVH Engineer - Acoustics
Crewe, Cheshire, England

This is a great opportunity to work for a major manufacturer of prestigious vehicles committed to engineering excellence with strong investment backing from a major global automotive group. We are looking to recruit an NVH specialist from an automotive background with a thorough understanding of parts design, to influence and support our future cars and the product development process. Demonstrating real passion and enthusiasm for NVH and our cars, the successful candidate will be responsible for leading and delivering their area of specialism. Graduates with a relevant final year NVH / Acoustics project and 1 to 2 years industry experience will also be considered.

  • Responsible for Driveline NVH attribute development to deliver project whole vehicle acoustic attribute performance (Transmission, driveshafts, axles and their mountings)
  • Provide NVH knowledge and direction in the design and development of component, system and whole vehicle acoustic specifications to ensure achievement of product acoustic targets
  • Provide objective measurement/analysis and subjective assessment of whole vehicle performance
  • Provide technical leadership in acoustic concern investigation and resolution
  • Generation and implementation of development plans to deliver project requirements
  • Definition of whole vehicle acoustic attribute performance targets derived from subjective assessment and objective measurement
  • Concept guidance at design and package reviews
  • Defining, planning, organising, monitoring and managing own work to meet project objectives for approval by Senior Engineer / Functional Manager
  • Leadership and management of acoustic testing (internal and external) to deliver project and technical development requirements
  • Measurement and analysis of noise and vibration data to identify root cause
    Candidate requirements
  • A Degree or equivalent qualification, in a relevant engineering or science discipline is preferred
  • Equivalent industry experience will be considered
  • Previous Automotive experience is highly preferred.
  • Previous experience in noise and vibration test, measurement and analysis techniques especially in driveline area.
  • Graduates with a relevant final year project and work experience.
  • German language capability would be advantageous to support test requirements at German proving grounds
