An exciting opportunity exists to join a world-class team responsible for delivering complete braking systems solutions to vehicle manufacturers in the UK and around the world.

Client is one of the world`s largest producers of braking systems, supplying all major vehicle manufacturers. The foundation brakes for vehicle manufacturers in the UK are designed and developed in their prestigious technical centre in Solihull.

The design of braking systems is extremely challenging requiring safety-critical performance at competitive costs. Client leads the field in many areas of design and research, and delivers cutting-edge technologies such as electric park brake and systems solutions for hybrid drive trains.

This is a very fast-paced sector requiring product design and problem-solving skills for programmes with short design cycle times and high production volumes. The role involves CAD design of disc and drum brake applications.

What you`ll do

As a member of the car brakes design team, you will be responsible for producing CAD models and drawings of disc and drum brake components and assemblies in adherence with company procedures and standards.

You will engage with suppliers and factories to ensure the drawings you produce represent lowest cost design solutions whilst ensuring safety and functional requirements are met.


What we are looking for:

Essential:

- Educated to degree level or equivalent in Automotive / Mechanical Engineering.
- Proficient in mechanical CAD, preferably CATIA V5.
- Able to work effectively within a multi-disciplined team.

Desirable:

- Possess brake, or similar product, design experience.
- Good communication skills.
