Our client has an established global reputation for the continual development and manufacture of its total coding and printing technologies that meet the needs of manufacturers and sets new industry standards in quality and reliability.

They are now looking for a Manufacturing Engineer with a mechanical bias is required to support production of Large Character Printers, Outer Case Coding Printers, Thermal Transfer printers and Spares Manufacturing.



You will work as part of a Manufacturing Engineering team to ensure products are built to the appropriate standards and to bring about continuous improvement in all areas of Operations. You will ensure that the highest level of quality and process effectiveness is built into the manufacturing process.
Main responsibilities will include:
Managing engineering change where required for product improvement, cost reduction or obsolescence avoidance.
Assisting manufacturing in fault finding of product and test fixtures when problems arise threatening the production schedule.
Carrying out process audits to ensure adherence to process.
Creating new process instruction sheets and ensuring existing instructions refer to the latest product specifications and that the information is presented in the most appropriate style using the most effective media.
Identifying improved working methods and test systems to improve product quality.
To provide mechanical / electronics support for the Large Character Printer, Outer Case Coding and Thermal Transfer Printer manufacturing facility. Specifically in fault finding, test fixture specification, purchase and maintenance.
Liaison with Supplier Quality Development to resolve material non-conformity, ensure robust processes and effective process control. Also to work with suppliers to ensure all value engineering opportunities are realised.
As the Manufacturing Engineer you will have an honours degree or equivalent (i.e. recognised status by a professional institute), preferably in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering, with proven experience in a manufacturing environment. You will be flexible, a level thinker and capable of solving wide-ranging technical problems.
You will have a firm character and be able to work as a team member or alone as the situation demands. You will be able to communicate with people at all levels in the organisation.
You will also be able to complete tasks on time using appropriate planning tools with the minimum of supervision. Experience of New Product Introduction and Six Sigma also an advantage. You will be expected to keep up to date with relevant technology.
