We are seeking to appoint an Operations Group Manager on a permanent basis in Peterborough.

As Operations Group Manager, you will be a dedicated, self-motivated leader who will work in a highly responsive production environment. They will be responsible for the development and engagement of a diverse team that will drive process enhancement and continuous improvement within a dedicated area.

The Group Manager will direct an assigned production area in the manufacture and/or assembly of quality parts to meet established production requirements. This role owns and sets the overall direction for the value stream(s) in a given area, with overall responsibility for PQVC performance of the value stream(s) including MQ12005 certification and Assessment scores

Reporting directly to this position are Section Managers and various levels of Operations support personnel.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Accountable for embedding guiding principles within the area of responsibility
* Lead and motivate a production team with a dedicated and positive attitude
* Maintain competitiveness and support a continual learning environment
* Accountable for specific goals on safety, employee engagement, quality, efficiency and cost
* Develop and be accountable for daily, weekly and monthly production schedules

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS and EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Essential:
* Significant relevant experience within a supervisory role, ideally at a management level will also be considered
* The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate good oral and written communication ability along with strong interpersonal skills
* They will also be able to demonstrate knowledge and the application of IT skills
* Proven experience in managing performance is essential for the role
* Requires a thorough knowledge of processes and tools, manufacturing operations, general knowledge of related areas
* Excellent interpersonal skills are required to develop a cooperative work relationship with others inside and outside the department

Desirable:
* Knowledge of SAP and previous experience in the management of continuous improvement projects such as lean manufacturing or 6 Sigma would be desirable
* Applicants will preferably hold a degree in an engineering or business related discipline together with proven supervisory and/or management experience
* Previous experience as an Operations Section Manager is desireable
