A Mechanical Engineer is required to work on contract for our large automotive client based in Dunton, Basildon, Essex.

Mechanical Engineer

Skills Required:
Mechanical engineering for buildings and infrastructure (heating & ventilation systems, air conditioning, pumps and pipework/plumbing services, sprinkler protection systems, etc).

Job Requirements
•Safety - Understand roles and responsibilities of CDM2007, risk assessment, method statement review. Understand the construction process/Project Management.
•Business skills - Managing contracts, negotiation, controlling budgets & schedules.
•Communication skills - Coordination/liaison.
•Problem solving skills - Analyse options/innovations, planning, risk management.
•Information technology skills - AutoCAD, Excel, Word and MS Project are essential.

Skills Preferred:
Estimating / Quantity Surveying for mechanical engineering/building and infrastructure projects/contracts.

Details
Experience Required:
Several years experience of Mechanical Engineering for buildings and infrastructure (heating & ventilation systems, air conditioning, pumps and pipework/plumbing services, sprinkler protection systems, etc). Knowledge and understanding of electrical installations and control systems. Strong knowledge and understanding of health & safety regulations. Strong general knowledge of contracting strategies, project phases & project delivery systems.

Experience Preferred:
Estimating and quantity surveying for mechanical installations/facilities.

Education Required:
Degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering

Education Preferred:
PRINCE2

Additional Information:
Depending on work load and project scope, the successful candidate may be required to work concurrently on a number of projects on an individual basis and/or provide support to existing engineers and Project Managers. The candidate will also need to travel within UK and Europe to support projects.
