This company is involved in the manufacture of hydrodynamic transmission units (gearboxes) for off-road applications, mainly in the building and agricultural industries. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the role is accountable for leading a multi-functional team in the successful execution of all phases of the New Product Introduction process for a portfolio of small drivetrain products, within the Product Development group of the Advanced Components Systems Division.

Manage multiple NPI projects to ensure they are on time, within budget, and aligned with the component and product group strategies, process owner for NPI process and subject matter expert to NPI project teams within small drivetrain engineering group, assists in prioritizing NPI projects based on enterprise impact and objectives, assemble the business case for project requests, identify training needs for the NPI team members and initiates NPI-related development opportunities and provides mentoring for the team. You will also build relationships with other departments, industry associations and outside organizations, assists in marketing the NPI process to customers, identify cost containment opportunities, identify trends and areas of focus for continuous improvement and co-ordinate the NPI program execution to the defined process ensuring delivery of each of the program deliverables in the areas of design, process, quality, purchasing, order fulfilment, marketing, product support and financial. You will also develop plans for program execution and monitor actual performance, communicating any schedule changes to the product manager and engineering manager.

You will need a college or university degree or equivalent experience, 5-9 years of job-related relevant experience together with strong commercial business and engineering acumen, which has been applied in context of New Product Introduction. You will need good working knowledge of product development/validation, manufacturing and accounting functions, be a certified 6 Sigma Black Belt with a proven track record, with functional responsibility for successfully implementing New Product Introduction, following NPI process, thorough knowledge of company products, product applications or merchandising programs and a proven track record in the ability to demonstrate initiative and work with diverse groups to reach consensus. You will need good communication skills with emphasis on the ability to impact and influence people without direct line authority, and to be confident presenting to wider groups up to VP level across the Enterprise. You will also need excellent leadership and team management capabilities applied within a project management environment, strong analytical and problem solving skills and proficiency in project management advanced MS Projects skills and MS Office.
