It is now moving into a new phase in its history with the development of up to 5 new vehicle platforms.

A rare opportunity now exists within its Chassis group at Chief Engineer with responsibility for Suspension, Steering, Wheels and Tyres and Brakes.
With a 1st line report of circa 4 Principal Engineers and a total team of up to 40 the role accountabilities will include:

Ensure planning, costing and timing activities within a project are achieved.

Manage the effective use of supply and engineering partners to delivery project on time.

Manage the team to achieve effective results whilst installing a strong team ethos and continual development strategy within.

Help co-ordinate key activities within new projects to ensure gateways are achieved.

Support Engineering teams with technical information and data to ensure chassis projects are delivered.

Attend customer project review meetings and report accordingly

Ensure sufficient information is available to allow project delivery to specification

Support the Senior Project Engineer in analysing potential issues and corrective actions

Ensure a positive health and safety culture is maintained
This role will appeal to an existing Chief Engineer or a Principal / Lead Engineer seeking to make the next step up in their career. Candidates will need to be able to demonstrate the majority of the following.

A Degree or similar qualification

Good planning and project skills

Excellent leadership and man management skills

Experience of Chassis Development

Knowledge of CAD (Catia)

Results driven and self motivated.

Strong written and oral communication skills.
