Cost Accountant

The company is a high performance engineering company who work with a range of high technology industries, including Motorsport and Aerospace.
The primary role of the Cost Accountant is to support the Finance Manager in business planning and cost control. The Cost Accountant will work closely with Engineering and Operations to identify the key cost drivers in the business and to ensure activities such as Continuous Improvement, Investment decisions and Pricing strategies are based on sound financial information. These requirements will be achieved by developing and maintaining a comprehensive costing and reporting framework and by providing financial advice to support management in striving to deliver the planned growth of the company at the required levels of profitability.
Experience of costing in a manufacturing environment is desirable and you will need experience of operating an ERP system. You will also need an excellent grasp of commercial issues. Experience of designing and implementing a new costing and reporting system is an advantage, but not essential.
You must be highly computer literate, including advanced Excel skills, a highly self-motivated/self-starter with strong communication skills, have a creative and flexible approach and be able to build excellent relationships at all levels.
Must be from a manufacturing accountancy background
