Detail Design Engineer

A leading aerospace supplier of electronic fuel control systems requires a Detail Design Enginer, initially on a 6-month contract basis, based in Wolverhampton.
As Detail Design Engineer you are to provide design support through all stages of the design process, from proposal preparation through design development and detail design to manufacture, qualification and 'in service' within a multi-disciplinary Engineering team.
* Report to the Engineering Manager/Technical Lead of the multi-disciplinary PIM team for day to day management.
* Be responsible to the Chief Design Engineer for the quality and integrity of his/her work.
Principal Accountabilities:
* Produce high integrity manufacturing package deliverables. #detail drawings, assembly drawings, parts lists etc.
* Develop design concepts and configurations of a wide range of actuation systems products which may consist of hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical or mechanical elements.
* Be involved in problem solving activities throughout the manufacturing, qualification and in service phases of the project.
* Ensure design work undertaken is conducted in accordance with engineering procedures and work instructions
* Provide Design engineering support and direction for student placements and students on work experience within the multi-disciplinary project team.
* Liaising with customers and suppliers to resolve product design issues.
Note: Occasionally, the Detail Design Engineer may be required by the Company to perform other tasks which are not included in the above description, but are within the capabilities of the individual and where necessary training will be given.
