Automotive Programme Manager

This is an opportunity to join a successful Tier 1 automotive group that continues to win new business with prestigious OEM`s on new vehicle programmes . Due to their success they are looking to strengthen the New Product Introduction team and now require an experience Programme Manager.
As Programme Manager you will be responsible for the introduction of a new chassis assembly product and associated production equipment, including two new fully automated assembly lines. These new facilities will be based in the UK and mainland Europe and will incorporate the latest technology for automated pressed and welded assemblies.
Working within a matrix organisation the successful candidate will have responsibility for a substantial capital budget. Regular travel to Europe, one day per week or fortnight will be required. In this position you will be expected to interface directly with the Groups Engineering function and the end client, experience of advanced technology and strong commercial skills will be required..
Candidates will need to have an excellent record of New Product Introduction working for a Tier 1 supplier of Chassis or Body sub-assemblies in a high volume manufacturing environment.
Personal attributes must include a positive but challenging, can-do attitude, prepared to challenge the status quo. Both communication and reporting skills will be required as will the ability to operate at all levels of the organisation.
The ability to speak a 2nd European language would be a distinct advantage but not essential.
