CAD Designer - Electrical
Surrey, England

Our client is looking for a either a permanent or contract CAD Designer to work on the packaging of electrical system components and wiring, including brackets and grommets as appropriate, within a CATIA V5 environment.



Role Dimensions:
Reporting to Principal EDS Engineer for day to day tasks.


Principal Accountabilities:
Packaging of control units, sensors, actuators and other electrical peripherals relating the following systems;


Body and door control
Active restraints
Infotainment system including sound amplifier, speaker system and antennae
Tyre pressure monitoring
Parking distance control
Interior controls
Bracket, grommet and fixing scheme designs
Harnessing signal, high current and ground cabling

Flexible, enthusiastic individual who is self-motivated and able to work well under own initiative. Clear and concise communicator with excellent co-ordination, interpersonal and presentation skills. Eye for detail. At ease working with a cross-functional team of engineers and suppliers. Capable of representing a world class automotive brand at the highest levels.



Knowledge, Skills and Experience:


Demonstrable experience in a CATIA V5 16-19 is essential. Have excellent communication and co-ordination skills.


Experience of system/component delivery within a APQP, six sigma or similar framework (FMEA, quality planning, PPAP etc) would be beneficial but not essential. Knowledge of good EMC practice and electrical durability test methods.

Experience of working within a cross-functional team environment would also be beneficial but not essential.
