Here is a great chance for an ambitious Systems Engineer to join Europe s largest independent supplier of lithium-ion battery systems. The development of Electric and Hybrid Vehicles has created a tremendous demand for its products and expertise from UK and mainland Europe Car manufacturers. Based in Coventry, commutable from Birmingham, Leicester, Milton Keynes, Leamington Spa.

This role will appeal to an Engineer who is hands-on, practical and with a proven background within Systems Engineering with experience in requirements capture in the delivery of hybrid vehicle systems or electromagnetic products for automotive customers. The main tasks will include the delivery of lithium-ion battery technologies into electric and hybrid vehicles for OEMs.

The role has responsibility for the commissioning of complex electrical systems. Developing commissioning test documents and ensuring vehicles and rigs are delivered according to project timing. Support with fault finding electrical issues on fleet vehicles. Liaising with OEM customer Hybrid Controls Team to determine systems requirements. Producing systems architecture and functional specifications. Identifying performance targets. Liaising with OEM Electrical Distribution Systems Team in developing harness requirements. Liaising with OEM Hybrid Controls Team to determine controls interfaces and developing signal database files to support. Some travel in the UK and Mainland Europe will be necessary.

In terms of the person specification, personality attributes are very important. Clear thinking, inclusive and cohesive work style. Creative problem solver, customer focused and forward thinking. Technically, must have knowledge of engineering tools and systems engineering methodology. Capable of reading and administering CAN database files (Vector DBC format). Degree qualified with experience in vehicle integration with a knowledge of diagnostics standards and Software Down Load concept. Experience in developing electrical test plans to support commissioning of prototype vehicles and rigs, experience in fault finding electrical issues in an automotive environment.
