A Powertrain Quarterback Reduction Engineer is required to work on contract for our large automotive client based in the West Midlands.

Description
Powertrain Quarterback (warranty spend) reduction engineer. Role involves liaising with cross functional areas post the delivery of technical quality solutions (delivery of the technical solutions is not part of this role) to optimize the following: Repair times for dealers; The use of lowest level assemblies for repairs; Parts pricing; Use of remanufactured parts; Roadside/dealer/supplier diagnostics; Supplier recovery; Field campaigns; and Roadside fixes.

Job Requirements
Skills Required:
Competent IT skills especially in the use of MS Excel (e.g. pivot tables), Access, PowerPoint and Minitab statistical software. Strong interpersonal skills. Understanding of how to use and interpret statistical analysis techniques. Understanding of Powertrain base engine systems and components.

Skills Preferred:
DMAIC problem solving capability (Green Belt or equivalent as a minimum).

Details
Experience Required:
Experience in using Analytical Warranty System. Experience in detailed data analysis using statistical techniques Understanding of Powertrain Systems.

Education Required:
A Minimum of HNC in an Engineering Discipline.

Additional Information:
The candidate will be expected to travel between engineering sites to attend meetings.
