Client Information
My client an international market leading manufacturing company within the Automotive sector. The company are experiencing a continual growth over the last few years and have a very strong order book and customer base. My client based in South Yorkshire offer a full manufacturing service including design and development work on site through manufacturing and final part assembly.


Main Duties
The main duties of the role will focus on the design and development and a range electro- mechanical switchgear. The post holder will be responsible for working with the Pre production development team to take projects through to delivery stage by working with internal and external teams to ensure customers requirements are met in full and on time and within budget

Job description
- Develop and present technical presentations to the customers and others on new or current projects.
- Design and development of new Products in line with customer specifications and in line with company procedures
- Produce thorough and accurate design project documentation to gain approval of customer and Design manager
- Implement design changes to improve manufacturing efficiency
- Support quality and pre production departments with APQP, PPAP and FMEA documentation
- Working with internal departments along with external customers and suppliers to ensure design meets customers expectations and I ensure efficient production processes
- Provide technical support to sales and marketing to obtain new business
- Compliance on detail design with related company and TS16949 Standards.


Key skills and experience

- Candidates should be educated to Degree level in a Mechanical Engineering discipline, or relevant industry experience. Candidates can be accepted with related disciplines but they should have an electro - mechanical background, ideally with an Automotive Engineering background.
- Automotive experience is preferred but candidates should have a background in applications engineering in particular project management and NPI activities.
- Good 3D/2D Design experience, preferably in the use of CATIA V5 or Solidworks.
