An opportunity has arisen for a Quality Manager with this leading aerospace supplier of electronic fuel control systems based in Birmingham. They have an excellent reputation and are very well regarded as a good employer. This is a pivotal role within the company, leading the plant Quality agenda by being an active and decisive member of the plant first line. Bringing customer quality focus to the day to day operation and leading quality improvement throughout the organisation.
As Quality Manager you will be responsible for:
Building strong, dependable relations with Customers, regulators and the other business functions.
Devising and deploying business plans that deliver the quality strategy and objectives.
Installing an effective, senior governance structure to improve performance and clearly report status
Embedding Quality competencies including process capability improvement and problem solving into the line areas.
Embedding a self sustaining framework for continuous quality improvement in accordance with six sigma and Build In Quality/APQP
Maintaining full awareness of all site related quality developments.
Leading and developing the plant quality team.
Deputising for the VP Quality.
You will be a strong individual, ideally familiar with the electronics assembly and test environment, and more importantly passionately committed to Quality. You will be demanding of high standards with strong ideas and experience to achieve them. You will have a portfolio of results that have a dominant theme of simplification and visualisation in the plant environment.
With your sights set on executive management, you will already have management experience and be skilful at developing teams.
You will understand the application of quality systems, problem solving (PPS/8D) and six sigma and Build In Quality/APQP.
The candidate will ideally be degree qualified with professional credentials, and Black Belt training would be beneficial.
