One of the most successful vehicle manufacturers in the UK now has an opportunity for a New Model Supplier Development Engineer. Based in the South West, the location is easily commutable from Reading, Bristol, Bath, Oxford and Cheltenham.
The New Model and Supplier Development team ensure that parts and process are developed to a the highest standard at the pre-production phase and thereafter ensure supplier processes are developed to ensure quality standards are maintained.
Working in a team of logical and dynamic thinkers, this role will mostly suit candidates from quality engineering; tooling and project engineering backgrounds`. The main responsibilities of these positions are;
Liaising between factory and suppliers ensuring quality parts are maintained.
Project Manage supplier parts and processes from prototype development to mass production.
Performance review and monitoring of development using Total Quality Management (TQM).
Carry out situation analysis with suppliers to resolve complex problems and critical parts processes.
Negotiate costs of design change with suppliers
To be successful in this role you should:
Be highly motivated and energetic
Have an appreciation of processes found within Automotive/Manufacturing industry although this is not essential.
Have the ability to understand and manipulate engineering and part drawings
Have excellent relationship building, communication and good negotiation skills
Have a HNC or related qualification in a manufacturing discipline would be advantageous
Have the ability to work in a fluid, varied and high pressure environment

The role requires you to have a full driving license and an open current passport as you will have the opportunity to travel overseas for training and to resolve supplier issues.
