A leader in engine design and manufacture, the business has seen significant growth over the past few years and is looking to strengthen its Site Purchasing team with the recruitment of an additional 2 Buyers. Joining a team of 7, the positions will be based in Stafford and will support the direct material spend for the site.

Provide leadership for sourcing for locally managed spend categories, implement sourcing strategies for strategically managed spend categories, undertake cost control, including implementing low cost country sourcing opportunities and be responsible for the management of a number of key supplier relationships. You will identify and implement cost reduction opportunities with key suppliers, effectively manage day to day operational issues, manage NPI to deliver business unit objectives and understand and interface with Business Unit partners. In addition, you will drive local compliance to negotiated source strategies, provide purchasing support to other functions for tactical issues, track Supplier Performance and provide feedback to the wider business and manage local supplier relationships and development.

Experience is preferred in purchasing, logistics, manufacturing, sales and/or engineering. The position requires an undergraduate degree from a college or university or equivalent experience. You must be a strong Negotiator, able to interpret, analyze and negotiate cost elements and have an analytical, problem solving and project leadership skill. You must also be an effective communicator, in written and oral form, fluent in English and able to effectively communicate with people across the business where English is the second language. In addition well developed interpersonal skills are required in dealing with sensitive issues, developing others, and reaching consensus on specific actions.
