The company currently supplies electronic systems to the aerospace industry for both civil and defence applications. As IT Manager-Server Operations you must have the ability to energise, motivate and drive a team to meet its objectives. You will promote strong accountability and ownership within the team and be primarily the point of contact for team and escalation point for all UK Operations. You will represent interests and act as liaison for this team at Management meetings, undertake direct supervision and development of staff, undertake prioritisation of work-flow, issues, incidents and other work assigned to team, schedule and facilitate meetings to drive issues, team objectives or clear bottlenecks and drive regular Team meetings and 1-on-1 s.

Maintaining and driving standards and policies, delivering strong focus on Performance and Availability, ensuring that all systems are adequately protected, in terms of security and system backups, monitoring and reporting on system downtime, backup failures and other metrics that could affect critical systems, or as requested by management, ensuring all change goes through the Change Management lifecycle process. In addition, you will be responsible for the management and timely resolution of Service Desk calls, Change Requests and Work Orders and creating and maintaining procedures, processes and documentation. Solid project management skills are essential.

The company is looking for a confident and resourceful manager with at least 3 years experience in managing a team and someone with a positive Can-Do Attitude and outlook, self motivated and able to plan, organise and prioritise own work. You will also have strong interpersonal skills, be a solid team player with good organisational skills who is customer Focussed and adept with the ability to work under pressure. You must also have good analytical skills to be able to thoroughly analyse problems and implement well thought out solutions, be happy with flexibility in working hours, a fast learner and keen to develop. Occasional Inter-site, regional or global travel as required.
