A Procurement Manager is required by this high performance engineering company who work with a range of high technology industries, including Motorsport and Aerospace. The Procurement Manager is responsible for all aspects of procurement for a Value Stream (VS) and reports up through the Supply Chain organisation, in order to ensure consistency with established Supply Chain strategies but also has a focused dotted line relationship to the Program Manager/Value Stream.
As Procurement Manager you will manage all PIM purchase orders and resource allocation (including PIM sourcing transition), from initial hardware requirements to full rate and handover to VS and develop and implement all best practice initiatives. You will also ensure all PPV is managed and reduced in accordance with budget needs, ensure adherence to VS savings in line with commodity plan and strategy, represent site as a point of contact and representative for VS supply chain issues to external customers as required, ensure improved indirect purchase order management and drive down the indirect purchasing cost with support from Commodity Managers. In addition, you will ensure all transfers into DLF/KANBAN and schedule needs are met, identify future transfer options and manage execution with VS and SC, provide the management of the escalation process as and when required, ensure there is a good flow of communication and understanding between SC (NPI, Commodity Managers, and Supplier Development) and the VS and maintain best practice for system parameters.
You must have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to manage multiple projects effectively, strong organisation, planning and tactical execution abilities, an understanding of purchasing systems, excellent written and verbal communication ability, in depth understanding of Supply Chain Management practices as well as automated and manual procurement systems. Being a Certified Lean Practitioner/Six Sigma Black Belt is an advantage.
