Maintenance Fitter

£15 - 17 per hour
A successful and expanding automotive tier 1 supplier of suspension and steering components is growing its technical capability and winning major new business.
A new contract opportunity has arisen until January 2012 for a Maintenance Fitter, based at their site in Wednesbury.
The individual will be required to work on shift and will be responsible for the following:
* Diagnosing and fixing mechanical faults on a wide range of equipment including CNC machines and automated assembly processes
* Supporting preventative maintenance activities
* Identifying and recommending machines spare requirements
* Coaching and supporting apprentices
* Analysing breakdowns and recommend improvements
* Willing to cover Team Leader role for absence/holiday
Role Requirements:
* Qualified to City and Guilds or equivalent in Mechanical/ Maintenance Engineering.
* Proven track record in mechanical fault finding and repairs.
* Extensive experience of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
* Working knowledge of electrical/PLC systems would be desirable.
* Ability to work both alone and as part of a team.
* Proficient verbal and written communication skills and PC Literate.
* Self motivated, flexible and ability to undertake training in additional skills.
* Ideally an experienced timed served engineer.
