Day to day running of the EMS Department test facilities at Coventry. This will include: supervision of personnel, scheduling of work, liaison with customers (EMS staff) and suppliers (General Affairs (Admin) Dept, and external contractors / suppliers) and maintenance of test equipment.
Day to day decision making regarding workload and priorities, EMS Dept budget preparation and control, supplier selection and recommendation for subcontract services.
Managing the operation and use of two chassis dynamometers and two engine dynamometers, plus associated plant equipment and gas analysers for emissions work. Additionally, machine shop and vehicle workshop areas are included in this role. This will increase in FY11 to include installation and operation of a Diesel Pump Rig.
Planning and control of work load in the Facilities area including holidays etc., managing staff to deliver all required work on target.
Input to long term plans for budget for both expenses and investment, especially long term facilities plans and investments.
Requirements:
HNC or Degree in Engineering Discipline.
Experience in supervision, performance testing and development on diesel and gasoline engines and vehicles and EMS interface software
Good team player, relationship builder, good communication skills.
