Description
Based in a very pleasant location in Michigan, this Centre of Excellence for the development, simulation and testing technology of powertrains continues to grow due to ongoing demand for its expertise. This has created a rare opportunity for an experienced Senior Engineer with a background in low speed large Diesel engine design, analysis and thermodynamics to join the team. This is a role that will appeal to candidates based in the UK (Brighton, Peterborough, Darlington, Daventry), Germany, France and China.

Job Requirements
The role has the responsibility for the project execution of design and development programs in the Low Speed Large Diesel Engine Market. Specific responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for the technical delivery of the assigned technical programs
  • Responsible for developing and resourcing the project team by leveraging matrix resources
  • Provides leadership to the team, coaching, mentoring, leading as required
  • Support the program manager for management of the finances and time lines
  • Support the Business Unit in promoting the technical image by successful program delivery
  • Work with Business Unit Director, Technical Director and colleagues to ensure appropriate technology is developed/applied to ensure program success
  • Play a key role in defining the technology plan and associated R&D efforts to support Tier IV and beyond solutions for this market
  • Interface regularly with the customer to ensure confidence and communication is maintained. Develop a significant relationship with the customer with the objective of securing additional and future business
  • Provide status reports to Leadership Team

Details
Qualifications / Skills required:

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering
  • Significant period spent in the Large Engines Business
  • Significant experience in design, analysis and thermodynamics of low speed large Diesel engines
