A MOST/CAN Infotainment HMI systems Eng is required to work on contract for our large automotive client based in the West Midlands.
Description
Position Description:
The role is required to enable our client to accelerate development of various HMI features designed to provide the driver with additional information about their vehicle. This may include sports car handling information, off-road data, driving style analysis as examples. The role is part of a small cross functional team adopting a new rapid and iterative feature development process adopted HMI modelling tools to autocode the touchscreen software.
Job Requirements
The successful candidate will:
•Gather requirements from the team to establish the optimum distribution of functionality within the current vehicle architecture constraints
•Champion the creation and update of all associated specifications to ensure timely software delivery
•Create detailed software application and HMI interfacing specifications to support the touchscreen development
•Liaise with the touchscreen supplier to agree the detailed HMI software design
•Contribute to the planning and execution of the concept evaluation process
•Creation and delivery of Design verification plans
•Coordinate the resolution of AIMs / e-Trackers / Issues to achieve targeted glidepath to closure
•Use of problem solving tools as appropriate e.g. G8d, 6 Panel
This role will also be involved in the future HMI development to maximise commonality between all models using the HLDF2.1 and next generation platforms.
Details
Skills Required:
Knowledge of MOST/CAN based infotainment systems is essential. Experience of human interface (HMI) design. Experience of in vehicle control systems. Capability of working in a pro-active and pressured environment. Ability to interact and communicate at all levels within the business, suppliers and customers- essential.
Skills Preferred:
Knowledge of FPDS / GPDS. Knowledge of PD toolsets (AIMS / WERS / E-tracker). Full UK driving license.
Experience Required:
Relevant experience essential in the disciplines identified above. It is highly desirable that the candidate was worked on HMI related applications.
Education Required:
Ideally educated to degree standard in a relevant subject.
