A HMI Specialist Engineer is required to work on contract for our large automotive client based in Gaydon, Warwickshire.

Position Description:
Main Role - Specialist Engineer with knowledge of HMI technologies, tools and techniques in an embedded environment. This role will develop a streamlined process for Human Machine Interface Design & Development including development tool selection, understanding our client’s internal / supplier requirements and process development.
Secondary Role - Research into Infotainment Technology/Features including Audio, Displays, HMI, Voice, Navigation, TV, Telematics and Electrical Architecture may be required.
Job Requirements
Skills Required:
Technical knowledge and understanding of HMI development process in an embedded environment. Knowledge / understanding of the key tools used to turn graphical concepts into functional HMI. Understanding of automotive electrical/electronic Infotainment systems & technologies is desirable. Clear and concise communicator. Ability to produce formal documentation to a professional standard. Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deliver to short timescales & deadlines. Self-motivated and able to work unsupervised within the local team and interfacing across business functions.
Details
Experience Required:
Development experience of HMI systems and technologies including software and hardware responsibilities, GUI tools or simulation environments would be advantageous. Generation of automotive electronic infotainment project timing plans and specifications. Experience of designing & validating automotive infotainment electronic systems functionality. Creation of formal documentation (i.e. engineering standards). Technology/feature benchmarking and future proofing.
Education Required:
Educated to degree level in a related discipline (Software/Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Human Factors and/or Automotive Engineering).
Additional Information:
This position will be based at Warwick University.
