A Driveline Control Unit Development Engineer is required to work on contract for our large automotive client based in the West Midlands.

Description
Position Description:
Driveline Control Unit Development Engineer Driveline Controls encompasses the control module hardware and software for controlling the electrically actuated centre and rear differentials of the driveline on our client’s products. The team also develops the driver control systems for controlling the driveline and transmission components.

Job Requirements
The specific responsibilities of the role include:
a) Development of software & hardware functional requirements for new vehicle programmes
b) Validation of the controller hardware & software on Vehicles and Test Rigs
c) Develop & maintain Design Verification Procedures
d) Support EMC & End of Line Production testing

Skills Required:
Good electronics background with a proven record of on time project delivery. Software & hardware specification, validation & engineering sign-off. Good problem solving techniques and skills, including experience of fault finding/system de-bugging. Good communication and presentation skills, good PC/IT skills, flexible, committed, self starter. A valid UK driving licence.

Experience Required:
Experience of Control unit software & hardware functional requirements specification. Experience of Control unit software & hardware testing, development & diagnostics. Would consider a highly motivated, enthusiastic & reliable recent graduate with a sound educational background in a relevant subject & a strong interest in the Automotive industry.

Experience Preferred:
Good experience of Powertrain or chassis control systems. Working knowledge of INCA or other vehicle CAN communication tools would be an advantage. Knowledge of Automotive Quality processes, including Hazard Analysis, DFMEA's, customer data analysis. Knowledge of OEM/major supplier project delivery processes would be desirable.

Education Required:
Relevant qualifications in Automotive Engineering, Electronics, or Control Systems (Degree preferred but not essential).
