A Wind and Noise Testing Support Engineer is required to work on contract for our large automotive client based in Warwickshire.
Description
Delivery of the wind noise performance and finished vehicle body hole size (FVBHS) sealing targets on future model lines including report out at technical and gateways reviews. Working with Component Engineers, Design and Aerodynamics to ensure that the component designs and vehicle exterior style support the wind noise and FVBHS attribute requirements. Conduct wind noise attribute development test activities including Acoustic Wind Tunnel and track testing of prototype vehicles, aero buck testing and CFD usage. Conduct competitor benchmarking in the AWT and test track to enable wind noise targets to be established in line with programme Product Attribute Level. Liaise with vehicle engineering team to integrate wind noise attribute work plans into vehicle testing plans. Supporting NVH Programme Attribute Team with respect to Wind Noise attribute development. Supporting Plant Vehicle Team for wind noise attribute development work including test and development work on wind noise and FVBHS issues where vehicle level performance falls below target.
Job Requirements
Skills Required:
Good background in general engineering methods and standards. CFD experience. Good data analysis and PC skills. Full UK driving licence. Prepared to travel abroad to support wind noise testing as required. Excellent team working and adaptability are essential. Applicants require good presentation skills to represent the wind noise attribute within the project/program and senior review forums.
Details
Experience Required:
Acoustics experience, wind noise (track and wind tunnel based testing) and EBHS testing Vehicle NVH knowledge CFD experience.
Education Required:
HND/Degree in Engineering or comparable qualification.
Additional Information:
Requirement to support prototype vehicle builds at other OEM sites, across the Midlands.
