A supplier of advanced technology, systems and components for automotive companies. As Account Manager you will be involved in most aspects of the company`s business with a particular client, undertaking predominately account management, including commercial negotiations, project management, logistics and general account management duties and undertake periodic sales expansion activities at model change timings.
You will have no direct supervisory responsibilities but must be able to work on your own initiative and with others. After an initial training period, you will be responsible for day to day account management including debt control of the components/accounts that you will be handling (this may include Tier 1s, client spares company etc.) Planning : Sales planning, new product introduction planning, planning to control debt. Decisions : Commercial decisions will need managerial consultation/approval. Day to day project and account management decisions mainly with the jobholder (for major decisions in this area managerial approval should be sought).
Ideally, you will be HNC or degree qualified in a business or other relevant commercial area and have experience of working in the automotive industry (supply and production side). It is preferable, but not essential, that you have experience of working with Japanese companies. It is essential that you have good communication skills both verbal and written and also have some project management and account management experience. You must be able to work as a team player and have good interpersonal skills. You must also be prepared to work longer hours to complete tasks when necessary and be prepared to travel within the UK and abroad.
