A Gasoline Exhaust Emissions Aftertreatment CAE Analyst is required to work on contract for our large automotive client based in the West Midlands.

Description
Gasoline exhaust emissions aftertreatment CAE analysis methodology development and application to future Cycle Plan Programmes. Work with gasoline exhaust emissions attribute team CAE lead engineer on development & correlation of a new CAE tool (Exothermia Axisuite) and then support emissions development on future programmes by application of this emissions simulation capability. Liaise with CAE software supplier, catalyst coating supplier, external test facility and internal test facility/attribute development engineers to obtain physical data for calibration and correlation of the CAE models. Liaise with Advanced Powertrain, Base Engine/Combustion and Exhaust System departments to obtain further data.

Job Requirements
Skills Required:
Mathematical engineering/CAE modelling of physical systems. Chemical engineering/understanding of gasoline three way catalysis. Experience of gasoline exhaust aftertreatment CAE (Exothermia Axisuite).

Skills Preferred:
Gasoline exhaust emissions system development. Gasoline Powertrain Calibration/development aid user skills. Engine Dyno/Chassis dyno emissions testing. Engine/Calibration/Emissions development project participation/leadership. Matlab data analysis skills. Gasoline combustion system understanding/Gasoline Direct Injection systems. GDI Particulate Mass emissions formation + measurement understanding. Understanding of gasoline exhaust emissions legislation/certification requirements.

Details
Experience Required:
Mathematical modelling of systems; calibration of model from physical data and then tuning of model to achieve correlation. Exhaust aftertreatment CAE. Understanding of exhaust aftertreatment chemistry. Understanding of passenger vehicle exhaust emissions requirements (legislation).

Experience Preferred:
Gasoline powertrain calibration experience. Gasoline exhaust emissions development experience, delivering exhaust emissions capability from given hardware + EMS system. Self motivated team member/leader of powertrain development programme. Gasoline exhaust emissions system specification/development experience. Gasoline three way catalyst development experience. Gasoline combustion system development experience/including gasoline direct injection.

Education Required:
1st Degree in Mathematical Engineering/Chemical Engineering/Mechanical Engineering/Chemistry/Physics.

Education Preferred:
Post Grad qualification in Mathematical Engineering/Chemical Engineering/Mechanical Engineering/Physics.
