My client a market leading company based in West Yorkshire are looking for an experienced Maintenance Team Leader. The products are used extensively in many areas of industry, in particular in the Oil and Gas, Automotive, Power Generation Industry
The company has a wide customer base and exports over 60% of it`s products
Main Duties
Will be managing an experienced multi skilled Maintenance team, working over a 24/7 shift basis to ensure high machine availability and improve efficiencies across the business to increase productivity levels
Job description
-To manage the 24/7 shift maintenance team to ensure engineering support is given to support production process
-Ensuring all planned preventative maintenance work is planned to limit the effect on production process and ensure high availability of all machinery
-Act as point of contact for maintenance issues and control assisting the Engineering Manager with the strategic development of the maintenance department
- Candidates should have knowledge, and practical experience in motors, inverters, pumps and seals, electro-pneumatics, drives, gearboxes, and conveyor systems
-Managing both internal staff and external contractors to ensure health and safety compliant and maximising efficiency of the team
-Responsible for identifying Continuous Improvement opportunities and delivery of departmental and site capital projects
-Identify and implement opportunities for Process Improvement
-Responsible for the development and training or new and existing team members
Key skills and experience
- Candidates should ideally be apprentice trained from Mechanical or Electrical background, or have equivalent experience from the Metal Manufacturing industry
-Previous experience of working on any of Electrical, Mechanical, Pneumatic or Hydraulic systems
- Track record of leading and managing teams of Maintenance Engineers through performance management and development.
-Experience and strong knowledge or HandS legislation within the Engineering
-Experience of Continuous Improvement Projects and ideally modernising working methods in a manufacturing environment
