Multi National American owned manufacturing business employing over 600 people with an annual turnover approaching 20m. Automotive supplier and regarded as one of the top three producers in Europe. They enjoy a close relationship with their customers and are continually striving to improve quality, cost and service.
As External Quality Manager, you will manage a team of field engineers across a number of countries to ensure that customer concerns are reacted to in an appropriate manner minimising cost and rejections whilst satisfying the needs of the customer. Ensuring that customer concerns are fed back to the RandD team for new launch activities, this includes playing a key role in the APQP activities to ensure both customer needs are met and that we have addressed lessons learnt.

Manage debits and negotiations of reduction in cost impacts across all customers, this will require the ability to present, communicate and operate at senior levels within the customer base.
Responsibilities will include:
- Lead and develop the external team of quality field engineers across Europe.
- Prioritise the high hurt issues, focus the team to fix.
- Drive sustainable improvements to the cost of quality and external PPM, track PPM by customer taking action to improve.
- Manage and lead the corrective action process, giving robust 8D s to the customer base that fix issues permanently
- Build and foster relationships with the decision makers
- Eliminate repeat failures through robust corrective and preventative actions.
- Identify, document and share best practice and lessons learned.
- Ensure new products and developments learn from past issues and are addressed effectively.
- Stand in for Senior Quality manager during periods of absence.
- Taking a leading role in managing customer expectations and requirements from non conforming product through to new launch activities.

Ideal candidates would have Textile / Process knowledge and previous 6 Sigma Green Belt experience and be process audit trained. Ideally would also be quality systems trained with particular emphasis on 8D, PFMEA and Control plans
