A world leader in the innovation, design and manufacture of Diesel Fuel Injection equipment are now looking for an Applications Engineer (Rotary Fuel Systems) to work on either a permanent or contract basis on the application and development of rotary FIE specifications from initial samples right through to production release.

As the Applications Engineer your skills required include a thorough knowledge and understanding of diesel engine performance and mechanical rotary FIE systems, combined with a practical aptitude to cope with the hands on aspects of this job.
The Applications Engineer will take responsibility for / or providing support to (depending on skills) all aspects of the mechanical rotary FIE system development on a range of off-highway engine applications.

Organise the procurement, testing and supply of sample FIE that meets the customers performance targets and project timing requirements.

Liaise with customers (including short periods at their premises) providing support to the development programmes, and give training on rotary FIE systems.

Assist with performance and production quality troubleshooting, engage with the customer and manufacturing to devise and carry out test work on rig, engine or vehicles as required.

Work with the pump / injector development teams, and Project Managers to deliver cost effective, capable products that meet the customers expectations.

The successful applicant will hold a degree (or equivalent) in mechanical engineering or related subject.

Required experience:

Experience of diesel engines and mechanical rotary fuel injection systems.

Must be self-motivated, team player with good interpersonal skills, and able to work in a multi-disciplinary group with limited supervision.

Must have the ability to work under pressure and manage several tasks at once.

Our client is also looking for a good communicator, with presentation skills, to enable liaison with internal design and development teams as well as good written and spoken fluency in English .



This position will involve some travel therefore the successful applicant must be able and willing to work away from home, and overseas for short periods.
