This global company provide comprehensive and integrated tools and tool solutions for the development of Powertrain systems for the Automotive Industry/. They are now looking for several Software Engineers to join their busy team.

As the Embedded Software Engineer you will be responsible for:


Software development for automotive applications through all stages of the software lifecycle.

Requirement management from product requirements through to implementation/test reqs.

Architectural and detailed design.

Software implementation (both embedded and associated PC-based tools) using C/C++ or C# and Visual Studio.

Development may include both GUI and command-line driven elements as required.

Software testing and validation.

Creation of appropriate documentation for developed software.

The successful candidate will hold a degree in a numerate discipline with a 2.1 or Higher. A PhD or a degree in Computer Science would be desirable.
You will also have the following experience/skills:
Software development in C/C++ or C# in a Windows environment
Knowledge of embedded software development
Experience of configuration management for source control
Familiarity with Software testing methods and tools
Understanding of system design
Strong computer programming skills
Excellent mathematical, analytical and problem solving skills
Flexible attitude and the ability to work in a team or individually as required
As the Software Engineer you will have knowledge of automotive communication protocols e.g. CAN, J1939 and automotive standards, especially MISRA and AUTOSAR.
Experience of GUI development using C#/.NET.SW documentation creation.
Development using varied microprocessors, e.g. TriCore, PowerPC, v850, etc.Embedded OS: QNX and/or RT-Linux skills

Visual Studio 2010. NET Development

Use of 3rd party libraries (e.g. BOOST, Xerces)

Use of scripting languages for automation.

German language skills would also be beneficial.
