Our client is a precision low volume high performance vehicle manufacturer.   They are currently seeking to appoint a team of 3 contract Catia V5 Designers for an initial period of 6 months

The Mechanical Designers will be responsible for using V5 to design highly stressed performance engine parts.  Reporting to the Mechanical Engineering Team Leader, the individual will also be responsible for the following:

- Accurate creation and upkeep of BoM information pertaining to engine programs
- Liaise with Managers to review status and priority of engine tasks
- Creation of designs and drawings in a timely manner
- High quality designs supported by right first time principals
- Health and Safety of his or herself within the work environment
- Day to day management of their tasks
- Technical development of engine components and systems
- Building inter departmental working relationships
- Championing best practices
- Liason with external suppliers

ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

- Must be able to use CATIA V5 - over a year`s experience or at least 1000 hours.
- Must have previous experience of designing highly stressed and precision parts eg engines, turbines, transmissions etc
- All round knowledge of mechanical engineering practices and systems
- Knowledge of components and their use in high performance engines.
- Ability to read and create engineering drawings
- Ability to use CAD software
- Ability to create and release engineering instructions via ECNs
- Ability to deliver results towards company goals and objectives
- Any industry experience
- Capable of "doing" not just "delegating"

Ability to use static / dynamic analysis packages and ability to supervise others are also desirable skills
