Mechanical Design Engineer - 1638106
Shrewsbury, Shropshire, England
We are recruiting for a Mechanical Design Engineer on a 6-month contract based in Shrewsbury.
As Mechanical Design Engineer, you will will assume a significant role on a project team with accountability for contributing to the design of critical components and sub-systems and improvements to existing products to a pre-determined deadline.
The applicants would be responsible for:
* Design schemes, detail drawings, FMEA's, design reviews and calculations
* Liaising closely with suppliers and customers to achieve high quality, cost effective designs.
* Communicating with production facilities to ensure ease of manufacturing and assembly.
* Working closely with the Development Team throughout the NPI cycle to ensure the robustness of both component and system designs.
Key Skills and Attributes:
* Sound knowledge of vehicle driveline systems (engine, transmission, cooling systems) preferred.
* Working knowledge of Pro-Engineer CAD system.
* Good team-working skills.
* Self-motivated and energetic with good communication skills and the ability to present to and have discussions internally, with customers and suppliers.
* Ability to deliver work to clearly defined plans within tight timescales.
* Flexibility to manage multiple priorities and prepared to bear significant responsibility for completion of a project.
* Working knowledge of systems and processes would be an advantage although training will be provided as appropriate.
