We are recruiting for a Development Engineer on a 6-month contract based in Peterborough.
As Development Engineer, you will responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of new and existing products and components. Exercises independent judgment with minimal from supervisor
This position is a key contributor to the competitiveness of the 400 Series products built in facilities across 3 continents.
Responsibilities:
* For technical investigation and validation of 400 series cost reduction and component sourcing projects, duties will include:
- Generating ideas and business cases.
- Project definition and prioritisation.
- Analysis of existing designs and working with suppliers to identify suitable alternative designs.
- Definition of validation requirements as well as conducting validation tests, analyzing results and authorisation for production use.
- Support to cost reduction efforts in UK, China and USA facilities.
*A key part of the role will be collaboration with the PSEL Joint Venture partner ISM, as well as suppliers and customers
Qualifications:
* Engineering degree is preferred but HNC/HND level candidates who possess a strong engine background and the desire to develop further will be considered.
Some experience in design, materials testing and measurement or manufacturing processes will be beneficial.
Must have the ability to communicate effectively with team members and others in the work group
