Our client is a high precision, low volume, machining company with links to motor racing powertrain.

They are currently seeking to recruit a Quality CMM Inspector to start in April 2012. The contract will initially run until December 2012.

The individual will be responsible for the following:

* Using specified sample plans, be able to check mechanical components to ensure parts meet specification, for example castings and machined components.
* Carrying out detailed inspection and measurement of first-off samples utilising GDandT.
* Programming and operating Co-ordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs).
* Completing concession information and create reports/overview, communicate effectively with manufacturing, planners and quality engineers and the wider business as appropriate.
* Maintaining computerized inspection for the inspection activities, such as non-conformance reporting.

Skills/Knowledge/Experience:

* Previous inspection experience within a low volume high value precision engineering manufacturing environment.
* Programming experience of CMMs in particular Mitutoyo Cosmos Software. The following will also be desirable, Zeiss Calypso, Umess and PCDMIS.
* Capable of using standard inspection equipment and able to read engineering drawings.
* Craft Apprenticeship and/or Mechanical NVQ.
