Accounts Receivable Accountant

Our client is a world leader in complete, advanced technology propeller systems. They now have a 6 month contract opportunity (to August 2012) for an Accounts Receivable Accountant.
You will prepare spreadsheets for debtor analysis and understand the issues, working with the Accounts Receivable Manager to overcome issues and ensure the company meets its target debtors. You will also work with the company Debt Collectors to co-ordinate queries for resolution as quickly as possible (for items such as price disputes, incorrect terms and order entry errors). You will handle the AR side of the internal business system, solving queries and clearing the internal balance, will reconcile the Debtor Ledger, post manual invoices/ credit notes, manage the debtor ledger system, set up new customers and ensure that VAT is correctly accounted for, being aware of different VAT jurisdictions and working with the company`s VAT Department.
You must be a good communicator, able to work with a variety of people both internally and externally and must be a problem solver, able to analyse and make decisions to solve accounts receivable issues. Additionally, you must be able to work closely within the AR team, be a team player able to give ideas and work with others, be able to work with people from a variety of countries, have good Excel skills and be confident using computer systems.
