Our client operates a delivery, logistic and international service that is supported by an extensive national network. This Business Development position is a national role.

The purpose of this role is to generate new international business and maximise business growth from new and existing customers and to generate and develop your own sales leads for new business and to pro-actively follow up leads generated from within the business. You will also formulate competitive quotations and proposals with a compelling service offering by working closely with both the operations team and directly with suppliers. Additionally, you will develop strong relationships with decision makers to qualify leads and conclude successful negotiations to win new business within agreed profit margins, ensure all new business is implemented successfully and develop and manage existing accounts to achieve the maximum growth potential.

Our client is looking for someone with a proven track record in international freight sales with an in-depth knowledge of ocean, air and road freight services. You must have experience of handling the full sales process from generating leads, arranging sales visits, gaining qualified information from potential customers, costing, preparing quotations through to closing the sale and the on-going development of accounts. You must be self motivated with the ability to work on your own initiative and the tenacity to achieve sales targets. A team player is essential as you will be working closely with the operations and sales teams which is critical to success.
