APQP Team Leader

Client is recognised as a world leader in the design and manufacture of industrial diesel engines throughout the world and an opportunity now exists for an Forging APQP Team Leader. This role will be tasked with leading a team of 6, targeting proactive quality improvements using such tools as APQP, PPA, 8D and Poke Yoke
* Drive collaboration among design engineers
*Provide co-ordination support during start up and NPI activities
*Accountability for robust, timely completion of all APQP steps
*Leading the team in addressing current product supplier quality issues, including the review and approval of 8D corrective actions
*Attend NPI/CPPD meetings
*Manage and report applicable APQP and quality metrics
*Co-ordinate process control engineers
*Provide properly timed coaching to CPPD teams
Skills and Experience
*Background and previous experience in manufacturing engineering, engineering or supplier management
*Experience of working with castings (ferrous and non-ferrous)
*Project management experience
*Commercial decision making
*Experience in execution of quality processes
*Knowledge and experience of APQP or working with suppliers in purchasing or logistics management
*Sound knowledge of microsoft office
Previous team management experience would be desirable
as would a engineering or manufacturing background
Experience of working with suppliers and of applying 8D process in a manufacturing environment would be an asset.
