The Tool Room/BiW department provides a prototype component and tool-making service to our client's Product Development. Working primarily with grades of Aluminium and Steel, the team of 60 associates produce prototype press tooling, BiW components, fabrications and offer a general machining service to a broad customer base of OEM engineers. The department is equipped with a broad range of CNC and sheet metal forming equipment and produces over 150,000 prototype components/tools each year. Process planning and work scheduling are key to the effective utilisation of this resource, and our client is seeking to appoint an experienced engineer with experience of planning/work scheduling in a prototype or tool room type environment. The successful candidate will require a sound appreciation of a broad range of metal working processes as well as experience of work planning/scheduling.

Skills Required:
Recent experience of metal working processes used in a prototyping environment (e.g. milling/turning/presswork/sheet metal/fabrication work etc). Experience of work planning and/or work scheduling in a prototyping environment. Ability to read engineering drawings, view and interpret CAD data, good communication skills, good PC skills including MS Office. Enthusiasm, initiative and dedication.

Skills Preferred:
Driving licence. Able to use basic CAD would be an advantage, though not essential.

Education Required:
Educated to City and Guilds level, in a relevant field or subject, is a minimum requirement.
