We seek a Project Management Analyst for an initial 18 month contract based in Stafford.
THE COMPANY:
Perkins Engines is part of the UK Caterpillar Group located in Stafford. They specialise in diesel engines for the power generation market. This includes the 2300, 2800 and 2400 series platforms that span from 14 to 61 litre capacities.
THE ROLE:
Reporting to the Project Manager you will be responsible primarily for maintenance of a project timing plan. This will require liaising with the work-stream leaders on a regular basis. You will also provide an on-going support to running of a Project Management Office (PMO) and its activities contributing to weekly/monthly project management documentation.
Timing Plan - Update and Maintenance
- Run a project timing review meeting with the work-stream leaders (fortnightly) to ensure a work-stream is on track to accomplish its activities on time, report the true progress of its activities (last and current month %age completion) and confirm their future activities.
- Attend project interface meetings (monthly) and ensure that the work-stream leaders update their plans with the cross-functional activities, links and dependencies that directly impact on the key milestones.
- Ensure that the work-stream leaders identify the project timing issues and risks and that they have one of the following measures in place:
- An impact analysis of the issues on timing - no impact on timeline and key milestones.
- Local recovery plan - a work-stream can recover the activity(ies) and meet the timeline and key milestone(s) requirement(s) completion.
- Exception Plan - a work-stream can recover the activity(ies) but it will have an impact on the timeline and key milestones (late delivery).
- Risk Dashboard - for all events that have triggered the exception plan a risk assessment is made and Risk Dashboard updated.

- Project Actions Sheet - Weekly
- Risk Dashboard (emphasis on Top 5 Project Delivery Risks) - Monthly
- Programme Dashboard (provide input in Risks and Key Milestones sections)
- Support project/programme manager(s) in running an efficient PMO
THE PERSON:
This role will require a person with strong communication skills and a full understanding of Microsoft packages (i.e. Project Plan, Excel, Word and PowerPoint).
Graduate calibre or working towards an engineering degree with knowledge of a Manufacturing Engineering background.
You will have experience of working on cross-functional projects and will have the flexibility to travel to India when required.
